Jay and I are big planners. Even when we were kids we had a plan for everything. I am not sure if Jay was a planner before me, but if he wasn't, I sure made him one! Many people I know are not as planning happy as Jay and myself, but still love a good plan. Today you will get to see two planners that I have been pouring over daily the last couple of weeks. First up the planner/organizer I made for our dinner schedules. This planner is an Ikea chalkboard that my mom painted green for me many years ago and recently got a new purpose in life. The days of the week magnets are super easy to make. All you need to do is print out the letters that you want in your favorite font and cut them out to create a stencil. Next, glue different colored fabrics to magnetic paper, I actually decoupaged the letters because I had tons of it left from Christmas Crafting. Trace the letters onto the fabric and cut out! Super easy! I also did this technique when I made a letter board for my nephew for Christmas. We use this planner weekly. I like it because it is not as obtrusive and tacky as some that have been floating around the internet. I just needed something that was simple and pleasing to the eye!
The second planner that I have been devoting so much time to is a planner that Jay made for me a while ago. It is a party planner to help me prepare for C's big one year bash that is coming up. It seemed that I had all these ideas floating around in my head. If I did not get them down I would forget and I hate having ideas scattered on several pieces of paper. So I sketched something up, everything I needed to plan a party: theme, invitations, guest list, menu, decorations, activities, cake, tabletop and what to wear. Many people may not put this much thought into a party, but I know a whole lot of people do! So, my particular copy looks like it has been around for a while and I do not want to give away any of the great things I am cooking up just yet for her party, so here is a free download for you! Hope you enjoy planning!
