month of may
May is here and that means Spring! (Well actually spring was here. When I started writing this it was May, but we are busy and time just goes so fast!) Here are some of our highlights of our Month of May!
Spring is here,
In the air,
You can smell it coming,
On the trees,
Leaves are green,
Caterpillars are sunning.
Birds are back,
Grass is out,
Busy bees are humming,
On the trees,
Leaves are green,
Caterpillars sunning.
May was good, here is to the month of June and a fun summer!
happy mother's day 2014
mothers...
believe in us more than we believe in ourselves
do more for us than they do for themselves
worry about us more than we realize
pray for us more than we'll ever know
value us more than anything else in the world
give us more than they can afford
love us more than anyone else can
matter more than words can express
Happy Mother's Day
a busy, dirty, happy type of spring
We have waited a very long time for this spring. This winter was so cold and seemed so long...So we have been making up for it! We have been really living it up this spring and the kids are in heaven! Most days end with a strip down of all children's clothes at the garage door or back door because they are so dirty. I think we have been getting as much as we can out of these warm days. Here is what we have been up to: Garden Building (more on that later)
Soccer Playing
We signed C up for swimming lessons in the winter and she loved them! We thought that she would also love soccer.
Not so much! I think her face below really sums up how she feels about the whole sport, at least for the time being.
Hose Drinking
Because we have been trying to take care of our new gardens and flowers we have been having nightly waterings of all plants and children.
"Park" Creating
We found a really great deal on a play set from Craigslist and after a sanding, staining and mulching we were set for business.
River Wading
We have a couple of parks with some pretty good trails near our house, they also have many river access points where the kids love to play in the water. On this particular trip Jay found the biggest worm I had ever seen! C was totally impressed.
The days keep getting warmer and longer and my babies are starting to get browner. I am not sure if it is the dirt and mud or just a little tan! Here is to more tending to the garden, digging in the mud, drinking from the hose and playing in the river!
easter weekend
This was the first year that both kids really got to enjoy easter for all of its eastery being! Three fourths of the Smith family stopped by our house as they were passing through and nothing could make Charlotte happier. We hit up the museum center (which C absolutely loves) and got to go see the easter bunny (which evidently O absolutely loves, he actually cried when our turn was up!).
On Easter morning C and O came downstairs to find that the easter bunny had left them some treats. Oliver wasn't too thrilled until he got his first taste of early easter morning chocolate!
After church we came home and had lunch with the family and an egg hunt. The kids had a great time hunting eggs...
and opening them up to see what was inside! I think Charlotte enjoyed easter even more than Christmas!
To end the day we tried to get a picture of these cute, little kiddos. It is impossible to get a picture of three kids three and under all looking at the camera at once!
The weather was gorgeous, the food was delicious (thanks to jay's fish frying skills) and family was entertaining as usual! Can't wait for more warm weather memories to be made in Ohio!
