the month of may

With everyone now in school and spring being such a busy time of year we are going to do one major mondoe post. To start we have mothers day where we celebrated with a family hike at the nature center. We bought passes for this year so we are looking forward to many more adventures!

Ollie graduated from his three year old preschool class a few days later. He loved preschool and we love Mrs. Ellis his (and Charlotte's) first preschool teacher! He had a cute little graduation program with songs, certificates and of course a small photo shoot!

The very next day Charlotte got to experience her first field day and loved it! Thanks for the photo's Mr. Stahl!

A week later Charlotte had her Kindergarten Celebration. Hard to believe she is already headed to first grade. The celebration was sweet and she was excited to show us some of her writing that she had been working on.

A letter L for the last day of school! It was her idea, she must have learned a bunch in K!

Seeing how much they have grown over the course of the school year is always fun!

We decided to start off the summer with a visit to a local farm to pick some strawberries.

Before we left she had to count them all, 160!

We have another fun summer planned don't worry I will take videos every day so nothing is forgotten!

easter weekend 2017

We did Easter a little different this year than in years past. Of course we visited the Easter Bunny and the kids were so excited to see him that they almost knocked him off his bench when they gave such big hugs. Along with the bunny we had to see all the other live and taxidermy animals as usual.

We started on Good Friday at Grandpa and Tiki's with a nice dinner, a scavenger hunt and a trip to the park.

After a day spent at Kids Opening Day at the Reds Stadium we came home to baths and some easter egg decorating.

Easter Sunday came with surprises left on our kitchen table that included some sweat treats, flashlights for summer adventures and dino eggs that required a little excavating!

After a morning at church we went to Grandpa and Gibby's house for dinner and an egg hunt.

It was a great weekend to spend with family. We hope everyone had a great weekend too!

A Fairy Tea Party

Six year old Charlotte loves Tinkerbell and all of her fairy friends. We watch the multiple movies that cover some of these fairy adventures over and over! For her sixth birthday party, Charlotte wanted to have a Fairy Tea Party, so of course we had to throw one with all of her friends! This is the first birthday that we have split the birthday extravaganza into two parties: one for family and another for friends. On Friday evening we had a very relaxed party for Charlotte with pizza, cake and her family that love her so!

The next day after the birthday girl enjoyed a movie morning on a special date with Dad and Mom, we had all of closest friends over for a fairy tea party. This was by far not as relaxed and low key as the family party, but so much fun to see all the kids!

In Pixie Hollow, where Tinker Bell lives of course, there are several different types of fairies based on their talents. Charlotte decided early on that she would be an animal fairy, so she is dressed as Fawn her favorite animal fairy. Other fairy's include Garden Talent Fairy, Light Talent Fairy, Tinker Talent Fairy, Water Talent Fairy, and Fast Flying Fairy. Of course we had to do activities to see everyone's talents before we awarded special pins to each fairy.

Jay explaining what Pixie Hollow is and how to find your talent.
